Winchester Signs One-Year Deal

The Blues signed Brad Winchester to a new one-year deal worth $700,000, the club announced on Friday. Winchester took a smaller contract than the $800,000 he was paid last year after recording three goals and five assists in the 2009-10 seasons.

This news should register well with the majority of the St. Louis faithful. Winchester adds plenty of size to a roster that will lack a power forward now that Keith Tkachuk has retired.

Winchester doesn’t carry a ton of firepower to the offense, but his size and ability to get in the way around the crease should make him well worth his modest cap hit.
