Now Huskins has an Ankle Fracture,
Will Miss 8 Weeks
Haven’t we done this before? If you recall, on October 29th it was reported that Kent Huskins had fractured his ankle by blocking a shot in a game against the Calgary Flames. He was supposed to land on the IR and miss several weeks while his foot recovered. However, just two days later, news emerged that Huskins only had a deep bruise and his ankle actually wasn’t fractured. Well, the story evolves a bit more today as numerous sources report his ankle actually is fractured and he’ll have a screw inserted.
Are we certain this time?
One of the more bizarre injury cases in recent memory, it appears the original diagnosis was correct while the follow up examination ruling out a fracture was incorrect. Huskins was evidently having difficulties turning while at practice on Monday, which led to the further review and ultimate discovery of the fracture, as reported by Chris Kerber.
With the pin inserted, Huskins will miss six to eight weeks.
