Kris Russell has Symptoms of a Concussion
Same story, different name. This story has become so familiar in the St. Louis area that reports like this appear to be from a template where all you have to do is fill in the player’s name. Kris Russell is the latest member of the Blues to experience concussion-like symptoms after the team’s game against the Nashville Predators. Russell will leave the team during their road trip and return to St. Louis to have further tests run. As a result, the Blues have called up Ian Cole.
Currently, the information on Russell’s injury is limited. We won’t know more about the severity of his injury until he goes through an examination in St. Louis. Hopefully the injury isn’t severe and Russell was just feeling a bit woozy after the team’s big shootout win over Nashville.
Previously, the front office has stated that the Blues would likely stand pat at the trade deadline. This was prior to Russell’s and Langenbrunner’s injury, which might forced the Blues to make a deal before Monday afternoon.
We already knew the Blues could use some another forward and an experienced defenseman, but the injuries to Langenbrunner and now Russell may force the team’s hand.
