The Dallas Stars beat out both the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks to claim the top spot in the Western Conference, but many still believed that the Blackhawks were the biggest obstacle separating the Blues from a deep playoff run. As shown in Game 1, the Stars are a formidable opponent and Ken […]
Preseason NHL hockey is coming to Kansas City prior to the 2016-17 season. The St. Louis Blues and the Washington Capitals will skate in an exhibition on October 5th at the Sprint Center. The matchup will feature two of the top teams in hockey and will give hockey fans in Kansas City an opportunity to […]
Brian Elliott needs help. The Blues dropped Game 1 to the Dallas Stars and the message again was clear – Elliott needs help in front of his crease and the Blues aren’t providing it. Elliott has been the lone constant for the Blues during the playoffs. While the majority of the roster has gone through […]
The Dallas Stars are a team with a decision to make when it comes to who starts in goal against the St. Louis Blues in the second round. After deploying both Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi throughout the 2015-16 regular season, the team has given Lehtonen the majority of the work in the playoffs (four out […]
T.J. Oshie is gone, but certainly not forgotten in St. Louis. Blues fans have been checking in on the current Washington Capitals forward during the playoffs and it turns out that Oshie has been doing the same on the Blues. Oshie’s first quote isn’t entirely clear. Was this the first game he watched this year? […]
The St. Louis Blues appear to be growing in popularity in a big, big way. Aside from ratings records over on Fox Sports Midwest, the Blues are a hit when it comes to merchandise. Gear is flying off of the virtual shelves and there’s some pretty impressive stats to back it up. Thanks to our friends […]
Once again hockey fans are being called on to select the player who will grace the cover of the upcoming NHL video game title from EA. This year a total of eight players are in the running including Vladimir Tarasenko of the Blues. It’s difficult to get excited for the vote considering EA has been […]
Game 5 set several ratings records on Fox Sports Midwest. Those records didn’t stand up too long as Game 7’s broadcast broke even more records for the network. Game 7 was the most-watched telecast in Fox Sports Midwest history. Game 7 picked up a 19.6 rating (239,000 households), beating out the highest ratings for any […]
Troy Brouwer’s goal wasn’t pretty. In fact, it was pretty ugly as it took him three tries to convert. Still, that ugly – yet amazingly beautiful goal – sent Chicago home and sent Blues fans into a frenzy. The best reaction after that goal? It came from Brouwer as he sat on the bench. Incredible.
Did that really just happen? The Blues survived another ugly second period and a post-to-post shot to kick the Blackhawks out of the playoffs in Game 7. That sentence feels strange to write as too often the Blues are on the losing side of the handshake line, especially when the spotlight is at its brightest. […]
The Blues had opportunities to close out the series against the Blackhawks with a win in Game 5 at home or a win on the road in Game 6. Both opportunities were wasted which now forces the worst case scenario – Game 7 back in St. Louis. Though Ken Hitchcock sounds pretty happy about things. […]
Game 6 was a disaster for the Blues, but fans in St. Louis were spared from having to watch the ending as local NBC affiliate KSDK lost power with roughly 2:30 left in the final period.
A lot of fans wanted to see the Blues kick the Blackhawks to the curb in Game 5. The Scottrade Center had a crowd close to 20,000 fans and Fox Sports Midwest set a new ratings records with a massive 15.0 rating in the St. Louis market. The disappointing loss was the highest-rated Blues game […]
The setting was perfect for Game 5. The Blues had an opportunity to kick the Blackhawks out of the playoffs – an opportunity which doesn’t present itself often. The game was played in front of nearly 20,000 loud, screaming fans in the Scottrade Center. Andrew Shaw was suspended. Things appeared to be lined up for […]
John Kelly and Darren Pang combine to form one of the best broadcast duos in the NHL. The two have great chemistry and Kelly’s strong play-by-play abilities gel well with Pang’s color commentary. Some people aren’t fans, which is fine, but most columnists and journalists keep those opinions to themselves to remain professional. Toronto Sun […]
