David Backes was forced to leave the game against Dallas after a nasty collision away from the puck. No one wants to use the dreaded concussion label, but it looks like it’s a possibility.
Doug Armstrong didn’t show much excitement when Ryan Reaves was credited with a goal against the Chicago Blackhawks. That may be an understatement. As the bench celebrated, Armstrong looked down, appearing to be almost dead on the inside.
Dan Carcillo appeared to have a pretty open lane to the St. Louis goal, but T.J. Oshie quickly closed the space and lined up to dish out a vicious hip check. You don’t see hip checks too often these days, but Oshie looks like he’s been practicing.
Although their 2014-15 season has gotten off to a lukewarm start, it would be foolish to expect the St. Louis Blues to finish the season anywhere but among the top teams in the Western Conference. While they have been without high-profile free agent signing Paul Stastny for some time, the Blues still have ample personnel […]
The Blues have placed Paul Stastny on the IR and recalled Dmitrij Jaskin. Stastny has been labeled as week-to-week after injuring his shoulder in a game against the Arizona Coyotes. While the move to the IR may sounds like bad news, it’s not really a surprising considering his expected return was being measured in weeks […]
The Vancouver Canucks had too many men on the ice and Zack Kassian tried his best to avoid a penalty by jumping in the Blues’ bench. Though he never actually made it past the boards, Kassian received an earful from Steve Ott.
Ryan Reaves’ new hobby is scaring Kevin Shattenkirk for our enjoyment. Let’s hope this is just the first video of many.
Here’s a weird sight to see. Roman Polak, now with the Toronto Maple Leafs, scored a goal in his team’s game against the New York Islanders. The opposing goaltender? None other than Jaroslav Halak.
Heading into 2014-15, Vladimir Tarasenko was instructed to fire the puck more. This advice was obvious coming off of a 2013-14 which saw Tarasenko score 21 goals during the regular season and another four during the playoffs. Has Tarasenko followed through? As with any article at this stage of the season, it’s early. With that in […]
UPDATE: Stastny’s condition has been updated. He has an injured left shoulder and is now being considered week-to-week, a downgrade from the day-to-day diagnosis. EARLIER STORY: Paul Stastny left Saturday’s game against Arizona after a crunching hit by Martin Hanzal. The hit came during the game’s opening minute and Stastny was unable to return. Information has […]
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The St. Louis Blues dominated a game for long stretches but failed to put the puck in the net and bury their opponent. Usually the story plays out with the Blues then giving up a goal and falling late in the game. On Thursday night against the LA […]
The folks/computers in charge of creating the NHL schedule have done it again. Last season the Blues always seemed to have a ton of games in hand while the rest of the league played a busy schedule. It’s more of the same in 2014-15 as the Blues skate in just their third game of the […]
Blues fans anticipating Carl Gunnarsson’s debut with his new team won’t have to wait much longer. The defenseman has been slowly rehabbing his hip following a surgical procedure at the end of last season and has finally been cleared to play. Gunnarsson may be eased into the lineup, but its safe to say his debut will […]
