Jersey numbers for Brouwer and Brodziak unveiled

The newest members of the St. Louis Blues finally have official numbers. Troy Brouwer will wear #36 and Kyle Brodziak will wear #28. Let’s hope Brouwer finds more success than Matt D’Agostini had with #36 and Brodziak maintains a better bill of health than fellow #28 Carlo Colaiacovo.

Blues will travel 40,649 miles in 2015-16

Will the Blues have a more difficult travel schedule in 2015-16 compared to 2014-15? In terms of pure mileage, yes, but the difference between 2015-16 is fairly negligible. The Blues will travel a total of 40,649 miles during their road schedule, an increase over their 38,965-mile schedule last season. This information, compiled by On the […]

Tarasenko comments on his new contract with the Blues

Vladimir Tarasenko is an elite talent and the Blues recognized that fact with an eight-year, $60 million contract. Tarasenko has already proven to be one of the best European players in St. Louis Blues history and he’s primed to be the face of the franchise for the next eight seasons. What does he think of […]

Tarasenko already one of the Blues’ best ever European players

The Blues don’t exactly have a rich history when it comes to European talent. Pavol Demitra immediately comes to mind, but beyond that most of the best talent to wear the Note has been from outside of Europe. Where does Tarasenko stack up against the other European players in Blues history? Pretty close to the […]

Blues ink Vladimir Tarasenko to eight-year, $60 million contract

Vladimir Tarasenko won’t be leaving the Blues anytime soon. The star forward signed a massive eight-year, $60 million contract which will keep him in St. Louis through the 2022-23 campaign. Tarasenko’s new deal will carry an average cap hit of $7.5 million and he’ll become the team’s highest paid player, surpassing Paul Stastny. A deal […]

Blues add Andre Benoit for defensive depth

The Blues continued to fill out their depth, signing defenseman Andre Benoit to a one-year, two-way contract believed to pay a $600,000 NHL salary and a $350,000 AHL salary. Benoit previously skated for the Buffalo Sabres, appearing in 59 games in 2014-15 while scoring one goal and eight assists. Benoit, 31, is purely a depth signing. Though […]

Magnus Paajarvi has filed for salary arbitration

The St. Louis Blues have hinted that they’d like to see what Magnus Paajarvi has to offer in 2015-16, but first they’d need to sign the restricted free agent. Paajarvi has filed for salary arbitration and will next have a hearing between July 20th and August 4th in which an arbitrator will rule on his […]

Alexander Steen’s nice message for Barret Jackman and T.J. Oshie

It’s difficult for fans to watch players move to new teams. It’s even harder for former teammates to see their friends move on. Alexander Steen illustrated this perfectly with a really nice message on Instagram for Barret Jackman and T.J. Oshie. Hard to see good friends move on to new teams. You guys do so […]

T.J. Oshie comments on his trade to the Capitals

The Blues promised changes would be made after another disappointing playoff exit and they delivered with a surprising trade of T.J. Oshie to the Washington Capitals. Fan opinion on the deal has been split (almost exactly 50-50 based on this poll), but the dust is settling and all of the players involved in the trade […]

Kyle Brodziak signs one-year deal with Blues

The T.J. Oshie trade will continue to receive all of the attention, but the Blues went out and made a solid signing Thursday night by inking Kyle Brodziak to a one-year deal. Brodziak most recently skated with the Minnesota Wild and had 20 points across 73 regular season games. The Blues were seeking a bit of […]

Poll: Do you like the T.J. Oshie trade?

The T.J. Oshie trade is still settling in, but it already has been an extremely divisive and polarizing topic. Some fans are happy the core has been altered while others are sad Oshie is gone or are unhappy with the return. I offered my opinion, but it’s time to poll the fans who follow this […]

Reaction: Blues trade T.J. Oshie to the Capitals

Fans begging for the Blues to change their core got their wish. T.J. Oshie has been traded to the Capitals in exchange for forward Troy Brouwer, goaltender Pheonix Copley and a 2016 third-round pick. Consider this not only a major move which alters the St. Louis roster, but also one which sends a big wakeup call to those […]

Zbynek Michalek heads back to the Coyotes

The Blues weren’t expected to bring back Zbynek Michalek and that became official as the defenseman headed back to the Arizona Coyotes with a two-year, $6.4 million contract. The Blues originally acquired Michalek from the Coyotes prior to the 2014-15 trade deadline in exchange for Maxim Letunov and a conditional third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. […]

Blues give Jori Lehtera a three-year contract extension

While Blues fans wait for Vladimir Tarasenko to receive a new contract, the team rewarded Jori Lehtera with a three-year, $14.1 million extension. Lehtera’s current deal wasn’t going to expire until after the 2015-16 campaign, which means he’s now in the mix through 2018-19.
