Blues draft Robert Fabbri with 21st overall pick

The St. Louis Blues drafted Robert Fabbri with the 21st overall pick of the 2014 NHL Draft. Fabbri, a center, most recently skated in the OHL and compiled 87 points (45 goals, 42 assists) in 58 games. Fabbri’s resume is pretty impressive, but he – like most prospects – has a lot to work on.

After being selected, Fabbri answered some questions on Twitter.

When asked what he excels at and what he needs to improve, here’s how he responded:

Which current player on the St. Louis roster is Fabbri the most like?

That’s an interesting comparison, but it is one Blues fans should like.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the team’s first-round pick is the fact the Blues actually made a pick. There were rumors that the Blues may make a trade involving their first pick, but that obviously didn’t come to fruition as they took Fabbri.

Oh, and check out the sweat the Blues handed out. It’s the alternate. That may be a telling sign for the new uniform speculation.

Here’s a Fabbri highlight video:
