Alexander Steen nominated for Masterton Trophy

Alexander Steen has been nominated for the Masterton Trophy by the St. Louis Chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association.

What’s the Masterton all about, you ask? The Blues have the answer:

Usually each team’s writers nominate a player who has returned to form after suffering a serious injury. The Blues don’t really have one of those on their team, but Steen comes close considering he missed time with a concussion yet still leads the Blues with 33 goals.

Steen will be a long shot to win, but he will officially be the team’s nominee for the award. Oh, and he definitely deserves some kind of reward for firing a shot while in the pose you see in the picture at the top of the page.
