The NHL has finally released their 2013-14 schedule. It's finally time to start analyzing and predicting the Blues' 82-game schedule which begins on Thursday, October 3rd before concluding on Sunday, April 13th.
Under the league's new alignment, the Blues will compete in the Central Division. Sounds familiar. The notable difference is that the Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets will be competing in the East. The Blues' division rivals now include Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota, Nashville and Winnipeg.
As mentioned above, the Blues open 2013-14 on October 3rd at home against Nashville. The Blues start the year with five consecutive home games. They also have another five-game home stretch between November 7th and November 16th.
The Blues will close out the season with seven of their final 10 games at the Scottrade Center. Their last game of the year? A juicy matchup at home against Detroit. This contest is made even more special by the fact the Blues will only see the Red Wings twice all season. Truly an end of an era.
The schedule isn't without its difficult stretches. Between February 26th and March 25th, the Blues will play 11 of their 15 games on the road.
Wonder when the Blues will see David Perron in a new uniform? The Blues visit Edmonton on December 21st and January 7th. Perron will return to St. Louis on March 13th.
