Great work on putting all of this together.

The reality is that just about every team that has EVER traveled to Europe to start the season has always had a hard time getting getting their feet under themselves when they returned. Maybe its the travel, maybe its how it screws with the preseason schedule or maybe its because the players are focused on the trip and not the 82 game season. Regardless, it happens more often than not (only Chicago has recovered this season).

Another point to think about is the psychological aspect and "growing pains" that a young team goes through. Last year, they had ZERO expectations and were able to make the playoffs as one of the most consistent teams last year. But its different playing with expectations. Its something that all young, talented teams deal with... unfortunately not all teams figure it out. Maybe they thought it would be easier since Johnson would be back-- but its still hard to win in the NHL.

The Blues are way too talented to continue their play of late... hopefully they get it figured out before the dig themselves a whole that's too deep to get out of....
