I like Dish Network and I would hate to have to swith services, but if I lose the sports channel I will be compelled to change services.

I blame both.

FSN picked up 30+ games that we used to watch for free. Why do they feel they need to charge for these games? Shouldn’t the increase in advertising revenue be enough?

Dish Network is on of the Blues’ biggest sponsors. They should be pressuring the Blues organization to go back to Fox and get them to resolve this. If I were Dish, I would threaten to remove sponsorship if the Blues didn’t straighten Fox out.

It’s a slap in the face to us Dish customers when I go to the Scottrade Center and see Dish all over the place but can’t watch half the games at home.

Ultimately it’s Fox’s fault for being greedy, but I also blame Dish because I could almost bet they don’t care enough to fight it.

That being said, I will not switch to DirecTV. I had DirecTV for a year and switched to Dish and have been loving it for the past 6 years. I could never go back. And as for Charter… HA!

I blame FSMW! But Dish will pay the price. It’s the job of Dish to keep me happy. But if FSMW is deciding which games to black out…they are really pouring salt into the wound of every Blues fan by not showing key division match up’s like Detroit and Chicago!!!!!

After many phone conversations with MEDIACOM in Columbia, MO, I can only assume that there will Be no Blues games on television this year. That means zero. They say that FSMW is blacking out 35 games because of their contract dispute. I asked the customer service man on the phone which games were not going to be blacked out, and he gave me some of the dates in the future. I was relieved for a moment, but then asked if any of the previous games were not blacked out. He then gave me a few dates in October. When I told him that those games were not on either, he told me that FSMW could have blacked those games out also. So, After more questioning he said they could not guarantee that any of the Blues games would be on TV this season. If anyone knows how to get ahold of FSMW, please make it public. I may have to buy a sling box and stream it from the STL.

apparently all other networks had no problem with FSM’s fee’s. I blame Dish Network and as of 11/07/09, I will become a new subscriber to DirectTV. GO BLUES!!

Getting the credit for six months as well but thats no excuse for Dish. Blues saying it is out of there hands is foolish. Advertisers are not getting what they paid for and it will eventually trickle down to them in loosing them. Fox Sports is to blame for not getting contracts into place before promoting more games on FSMW. They are breaching contracts.

I’m curious to know why FSMW is demanding more money for the games.

a) as you brought up, there were roughly 25 games that were not shown on FSMW last year. They are blacking out 35. Why?

b) is ad revenue really that much lower for hockey games than it is for 5-card-blowme poker that they need to make up the revenue from the providers?

And speaking of advertisers, I’m sure there are advertisers who pay for ads with the understanding that they will be played during Blues games. If they are only reaching 1/2 the viewers for 35 games when they aren’t getting a discount for those games, they could be an ally in this dispute.

I will be cancelling Dish Nutwork. I consider their choice to not carry Blues games to be a breach of contract. As I told the DN salesman, Blues live coverage is 90% of the reason I have satellite service. Let ‘em try to hit me with an “early cancellation fee.” No dice, boys!

I called Dish Network and complained, for me being a Blues Fan its not an even trade but and FYI to everyone with Dish I am now receiving a $10 credit for the next six months off my service. I would suggest evryone call and complain and get your credit maybe it will hurry along their negotiations
